Pastoral Minister

Sister Katie Kelter, S.S.S.F.

Sister Katie Kelter, a School Sister of St. Francis, received her B.A. from Alverno College, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She holds a Master's Degree in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her post graduate work in Guidance and Counseling was done at Fordham University. She received Certification in Gerontology from the University of Michigan.

Sister Katie was an Elementary School Teacher for 12 years and taught High School Social Studies for 3 years prior to accepting the position of Retirement Director for the Wisconsin Province of her community; a position she held for 12 years.  After spending 1 year working in Research and Planning for the U.S. Province of the School Sisters of St. Francis, she assumed the position of Pastoral Minister at Nativity of Mary Parish, Janesville, in 1984.

Sister Katie is Treasurer of the Board of Directors for ECHO (Everyone Cooperating to Help Others), an Ecumenical Service Organization in the City of Janesville.  She is Chairperson of the Madison Dioscese Pastoral Ministers Association, serves as Spiritual Director for the Catholic Women's Club, holds the position of Vice President of Nutrition & Health Associates, Inc., is an appointed member of the Rock County Nutrition Council and serves on the Advisory Board of Faith in Action for Hospice Care, Inc.
