Today
was a busy day. We enjoyed computers and gym. In religion, we learned about God’s
desire for us to be open to all. In language arts, we continued to work with
plural possessives, reviewed sequence as a reading comprehension skill, re-read
“The Stories Julian Tells” and worked on a tic-tac-toe
comprehension activity. We also started our “how to” writing for
the next two weeks, with me demonstrating the importance of being accurate and
detailed in this type of writing. Ask them how I made a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich! In science, we concluded our experiment from before the holidays,
cutting open our models of the earth and reviewing the core, mantle, crust
components. We then moved onto the section of our science book, learning about
Earth’s forces—the volcano, earthquake, tsunami. We will recreate
these forces later in the week. In social studies we worked with inset and
climate maps today and took a quiz on geography terms. In math, we worked in problem solving teams
and I worked 1:1 with student to prepare for Wednesday’s exam. Please
look in their folder this evening for the chapter review—if you see a lot
of errors, I recommend working on the check your progress this evening.
